In collaboration with international improviser Andrew Morrish and actor-musician Eilon Morris, Zoe, Andre and Eilon begun to create a series layered improvisations as an attempt of reaching each other across continents.
EAZ was created as part of ICEBERG‘s Weekend of Improvisations in Glasgow IV (WIG IV).
Each improvisation begins by one practitioner offering initial sonic or movement material, and the other two responding to what they are offered whilst imagining that the offering is occurring live, next to them.
Following this event, the three practitioners were inspired by the sense of sharing a space these improvisations evoked and decided to continue.
Layered Improvisations is an ingoing project between the three practitioners, which aims to highlight improvisation as a life-practice, an ongoing and resilient performance practice.
